Kuskem Water Falls in South Goa

Kuskem Falls is not so much famous as Dudhsagar Falls or Harvalem Falls are, but still this waterfall is not less beautiful. The name of the waterfall is coming from the name of the neighboring village Kuskem, which belongs to Canacona region (Canacona Taluk), South Goa.

The peculiarity of this amazing natural phenomenon is that it is not visible from a distance. The waterfall is like hiding deep in heavy dense jungles and on the way to this perfect natural formation a curious tourist has no idea that in some interval he would see the breathtakingly beautiful waterfall.

Kuskem Falls is not so much high: it has only two steps and falls down with a great sound of a thunder from the height of about 30 m. This waterfall produces an unforgettable expression onto everyone who has ever seen this fantastical phenomenon. The environs of Kuskem Falls are also worth visiting. The waterfall is surrounded by rich and very beautiful flora and fauna.

This place is one of the most favorite places of photographers, especially because of the spectacular panoramic view.

Kuskem Falls visiting will be very interesting for those who are fond of travelling, adventures and hiking. The waterfall is located about 12 km away from the entrance to Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park. You will have to climb through thick and unsafe vegetation of jungles to Kuskem Village, which situates very close to Kuskem Falls. It is better (and strongly recommended) to take the service of the local guide: than it is no doubts that you will reach the waterfall without any problems. The best period for Kuskem Falls visiting is monsoon season: the vegetation in this period retrieves the succulent rich color and looks very fresh. During summer the waterfall dries up.
