Upgrade of South Goa Beaches
Colva Circuit (Colva circle) - the so-called development projects and renovation of four beach areas of South Goa received funding from the Department of Tourism. Reconstruction of infrastructure: beaches of Colva, Konsaulim, Betalbatim and Benaulim, undertaken to make the southern beaches more attractive for the tourists, who by tradition are going to the crowded resorts of North Goa.
The total project cost is about 17.23 million rupees (about $ 300,000). Required amount has already been allocated by the government, and the renovation of the beaches are to be completed within 180 days of receipt of order.
"Beaches of South Goa are world famous and attract many tourists. Implementation of the project will lead to the Colva Circuit modernization of its resort complexes, that will help them provide the best conditions and to accommodate more tourists, and this will increase the demand for tourist services and contribute to the growth of tourism in South Goa." - Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar.
Infrastructure Project of South Goa beaches provides for the establishment and renovation of various objects, such as vehicle parking, a children's park with playgrounds, changing rooms, toilets, seating, pedestrian areas, promenades and many other.
Due attention will be paid to the improvement of strategic sites and attractions along the southern coast, which attract a lot of tourists in Goa.
