Colva Beach location
Colva Beach is located 68 km north from the Dabolim International Airport, 40 km from the city of Panjim/Panaji – the capital of Goa state, and 6 km west from the City of Margao – the closest major city to Colva resort.
GPS-coordinates of Colava Beach: 15,27566°N, 73,91305°E / 15°16’32»N, 73°54’47»E. If you are travelling on your own transport you’ve better to drive HN178 Highway into south-western direction; after Indian Oil gas station turn right to the coastal road which goes parallel to the Highway and slowly passes to Colva Road.
The thoroughfare to Colva Beach on a pre-paid taxi will cost you from 432 rupees to 504 rupees depending on the availability of air-conditioning in the car. You can also use a train or a bus to get easily to the resort. Many trains are passing through the nearest Magdaon Railway Station, which is located in the City of Margao. It connects inhabited localities of the region with other parts of the country. If you decided to try this variant of the thoroughfare, then you will need to take a train or a bus at the station of Vasco da Gama city, which is located just few kilometers from the Dabolim International Airport. Shuttle-buses are also available.
From Margao to Colva Beach resort you can take either a bus (it will cost you about 10 rupees) or a taxi (about 250 rupees). But still it is better to take a pre-paid taxi to reach Colva Beach due to fact that this type of transport is more comfortable and you wouldn’t need to bargain. Besides, prices for pre-paid taxis are much lower than for usual taxis.
Colva Beach resort has a bus station at Colva Circle, in the end of the main street which leads directly to the beach. This stretch of highway is called Colva Beach Road. You can also rent a taxi, auto-rickshaws or scooter – the range is really huge. The prices are starting from 150 rupees and go higher. To reach the neighboring beaches, which are actually the continuation of Colva Beach itself, you can simply by walking or by bicycle riding.
