Recreation and holidays spending in Candolim
Traditionally, Candolim Beach resort is regarded as the resort for well-off British and European tourists. As a consequence, the prices, even being moderate, are still above the average.
The best time to plan your vacation in Candolim resort is the period from November till March. During this time the resort’s tropical climate is least expected to offer you some “surprises”, besides the weather remains to be warm and sunny. Meanwhile the air and the water temperatures stand equally at about 30º C.
Even being much more busy and spunky, the Candolim Beach resort is calmer, cleaner and more reputable than other famous North Goa resorts like, fore example, the neighboring Baga and Calangute beaches. The village is spread throughout the palm groves and has a wide variety of decent accommodation and restaurants to choose from. Most trading and travel facilities are stand alongside two main roads – the Fort Aguada Road, which crosses the entire village, and the main road, which leads directly to the beach.
The beach itself is considerably well-groomed. The staff of shacks located here constantly puts in effort to send away Cheap Jacks. At some shacks beach chairs and umbrellas are offered for free in a case you order something from the suggested menu. In other places you will have to pay about 50 rupees for using a deck chair and an umbrella. At the southern part of the beach, closer to Sinquerim village, you can lend some sport equipment.
If you get tired from lying on the beach and basking in the sun, you can go shopping or take some excursions for main Goa sightseeing watching. Trips to Panaji — the capital of Goa, the Old Goa, Mapusa and Hindu Temples are a must-do for every visitor. On the outskirts of Candolim resort you will find Portuguese Fort Aguada built in the 17 th-century, St. Lawrence Chapel, Costa Frias Castle and Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary.
